![]() Their hospital was not staffed or equipped to perform this intricate operation and it took months to raise funds and prepare for it. The staff at Paddar Hospital appealed for public donations as well as government and international aid. The hospital staff took it upon themselves to care for the little girls and eventually perform the delicate surgery which could give them a better life. In the case of these conjoined twins, their parents had abandoned them at the hospital in which they were born. Unfortunately, it is quite common in rural communities that girl babies are considered of no value, while the disabled are often abandoned. The twin girls had fused livers and although they each had their own heart, the hearts shared a common pericardium. They were born on 2nd May, 2011, to a poor farmer (Hari Ram Yadav) and his wife (Maya Yadav), in a village in the Betul district of India. These pretty little girls are Stuti and Aradhna.
